Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, the Venice Film Festival (The Mostra) will be opening its doors to film critics and fans alike. For the third year now, Jaeger-LeCoultre will be sponsoring most of the festival highlights and will extend its patronage with the donation of a series of personalised Reverso watches with unique engravings. Those donations will help raise funds to restore the italian film ‘Ill Feroce Saladino’, a cult film released in 1937, and ‘Uomini che mascalzoni’, one of the films showed at the first edition of the Venice Film Festival in 1932.
These one-of-a-kind designer watches will be auctioned at the festival pre-opening gala evening staged by La Biennale di Venezia at the PALAZZO QUERINI DUBOIS on August 28th. Actors and celebrities Sergio Castellito, Catherine Deneuve, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Josh Hartnett, Valentino Rossi and Oliver Stone have graciously signed the watches in aid of the event.
The famous Antiquorum auctioneers will organise the auction and the proceeds, will be donated to the fund for restoration of old films run by La Biennale di Venezia.
